Get to Know Me
I consider myself to be incredibly lucky as I have known what I wanted to do since a young age. I always knew I wanted to be a therapist. After my own positive experiences in therapy I knew I wanted to hold space for others as I had experienced.
I believe in the power of human relationships and think that our opportunities to be radically authentic are often limited in our day to day life, so my goal as a therapist is to provide this space where you can be unapologetically yourself. This grounds me in sessions and allows me to bring a compassionate and accepting presence.
I balance this with techniques and modalities that have been shown to help people. In sessions I am often using a blend of therapeutic techniques. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, and helping people heal from relational wounds.
In my personal life you can find me outside! I enjoy hiking, camping, and gardening with my husband, daughter and pup, Jelly. Being outdoors provides me with a sense of peace and helps me feel rejuvenated and refreshed. My favorite trails are in the Great Smoky Mountains. In my garden you can find different tea herbs, tomatoes, and peppers.
I am also a meditation practitioner and feel this helps me in both my personal and professional life. Being able to be grounded and steady despite what life throws has been invaluable. I’m currently focusing on metta or loving kindness meditations.
I am non- religious and hope to be considered an ally of the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities.
