FAQs

What are the benefits of therapy?

Benefits of therapy range from reduction in symptoms to feeling more satisfied with life. I hope our sessions together lead you to insights about yourself, a greater sense of self acceptance, and tools to use to manage emotions effectively. Therapy can also be difficult at times. It's not always easy to talk about the hard stuff. We will work together to be sure that we are talking about what is needed while also assuring you have the autonomy to decide how we use our time together.

How do I know we would work well together?

Finding the right fit of therapist is so important for therapy to be beneficial! I offer an optional free 15 minute phone call to get to know each other before we schedule an appointment.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

I’m currently offering exclusively virtual, telehealth sessions. I use a platform similar to Zoom that is HIPPA compliant and encrypted. It is simple to use as long as you have a working camera and microphone. This allows you to attend our appointments from anywhere in the state of Tennessee.

Do you accept insurance?

I do! I am in network with most of the larger insurance plans including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and United Health. These companies often have smaller plans they offer by different names. We would verify your benefits before we start so there wont be any surprises about the cost of therapy. If you don't see your plan listed and are wanting to work together, let me know and I will verify your benefits!

I also accept cash pay. My current rate is $175 for 55 minute sessions.

Are there any benefits or private pay?

The benefits of cash pay include that there is enhanced confidentiality. By using insurance I must submit a diagnosis and progress note to your insurance company. When using private pay I would be the only one with access to the documentation I would keep. There are also some modalities that insurance does not cover. Cash pay allows us to be more creative in the ways we work together.

How long are sessions and how frequently would we meet?

During our first session we will discuss your reasons for coming to therapy and your goals for therapy. Then we will decide on a frequency, often this is weekly or every other week sessions. I typically offer 55 minute sessions.
